Our History

The Rotman Institute of Philosophy at Western University builds on the success of its predecessor, the Science Epistemology and Ethics Research (SEER) Lab, and the strengths of the University’s Department of Philosophy. The Rotman Institute’s mandate, membership and public profile have all been expanded to create a unique collaborative place where philosophers engage scientists to make a difference in the world.
